Amit did his MVA from Government College of Art & Craft, Kolkata. He has participated in the Birla Academy’s annual exhibition in 2001 and 2007, Rajya Charukala Parshad in 2002 and Government College Annual shows from 1999 till 2004 in Kolkata. Amit is the recipient of Governor Award in 2002 as well as Rajya Charukala Certificate of Merit in the same year. In 2007 he participated in the Wood carving Workshop held in Nagaland.
