Tripathi did M.F.A. In painting from Indira Kala Sangeet V.V., Khairagarh. He is a recipient of the Raza Foundation Award, National Award by Lalit Kala Akademi, State Award by M.P. Kala Parishad, Srijan Award. He has had solo exhibitions in New Delhi, Bhilai, Mumbai, Bangalore, Rajnandgaon and Khairagarh. His group shows include ones at ‘Harvest’, Arushi Art’s, New Delhi, ‘Art Pilgrim’, London, ‘Roop’, Raza Foundation Awardees, Art Alive Gallery, New Deldi, ‘Art in Art’, Art Indus, New Delhi, Muller Plate Art Gallery, Munich, Germany, Arti Art Gallery, Bangalore, ‘Roop Adhyatm’, Tao Art Gallery, Mumbai, Indian Habitat Centre, New Delhi, Birla Academi, Kolkata, Chitrakala Parishad, Bangalore, National Gallery of Modern Art, Mumbai.
