She began her painting in 1980, joining the studio of the Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata, 1983; before pursuing and completing her B.V.A. in Fine Arts at the Government College of Art and Craft, Kolkata, India, 1994. She has had five solo shows in Kolkata, New Delhi, Kathmandu and USA; and participating in several Group Exhibitions, including the National Exhibitions, shows at National Gallery of Modern art, Mumbai, at the Salar Jung Museum, Hyderabad, and at Gajaha Gallery, Singapore. Awarded National Scholarship for Painting and the Bharat Nirman Award for Art and Painting.
