Ghosh commenced his formal artistic training in 1951, at the Indian Art College and thereafter continued at the Government College of Art & Craft, Calcutta from 1952 to 1957. Noted artists Gopal Ghosh, Dilip Dasgupta and Pradosh Dasgupta were amongst teachers who helped shape this formidable talent.

 

His sculptures are inspired by various facets of his environment, the human form and different types of shapes. The sculptures are usually small. He has held several solo exhibitions and group exhibitions at Lalit Kala Academy (Delhi), Academy of Fine Arts (Calcutta), Birla Academy of Art & Culture (Calcutta) Artists\' Centre and Jehangir Art Gallery (Mumbai), All India Fine Arts & Crafts Society (Delhi) and Metropolitan Art Salon (Calcutta).

 

His works are on display at the National Gallery of Modem Art and the Lalit Kala Academy and at Chitra Kala Parishad.
