Though he started off as a printmaker after training at Hayters Atelier in Paris, he turned more and more towards drawing in the late 70s when he was teaching graphic design to the students of the Film and TV Institute at Pune. His style has also evolved over the years from an abstract expression to a figurative one.

Most of his drawings especially those of human visage have an air of severe Romanticism about them, the faces appearing to materialize out of thin air, in a blur of one directional strokes, recalling the images of Bikash Bhattacharjee and the style of Suhas Roy.
