Tripathi did M.F.A. In painting from Indira Kala Sangeet V.V., Khairagarh. He is a recipient of the Raza Foundation Award, National Award by Lalit Kala Akademi, State Award by M.P. Kala Parishad, Srijan Award. He has had solo exhibitions in New Delhi, Bhilai, Mumbai, Bangalore, Rajnandgaon and Khairagarh.
