Sanjoy has done MVA in sculpture from the Government College of Art & Craft, Kolkata and has participated in the College Annual Exhibition regularly from 1995 till 2000. In 1998, Sanjoy received the Dhoomimal Gallery Annual Exhibition Award and in the same year his works were also selected in the State Academy Exhibition. He has recently participated in the Birla Academy Annual show 2007, Kolkata. He is also the recipient of the Ravi Jain Memorial Fellowship, New Delhi. He has been regularly attending workshops among which the Dokra Workshop and the Chou Mask Making workshops held in the Government College of Art & Craft, Kolkata are significant.
