Suhas Roy has done his diploma in Painting, ICAD, Calcutta during 1953-58. During 1956-66 he studied graphic art under the guidance of S.W. Hayter, Atelier 17 and mural art at Ecole Superior des Beaux Art, Paris. Among the various awards won by him, the significant ones are Annual Exhibition, ICAD, Calcutta in 1957, First All India Graphic Exhibition, Group 8, Calcutta, 1969 Award, AIFACS, New Delhi 1970 Award, West Bengal Academy of Dance, Drama, Music and Fine Arts, Calcutta, 1970 Award, AIFACS, New Delhi, 1986 Awarded Certificate of Merit, Symphony, Hoshiarpur. Among the major shows are 1964 Solo exhibition, Art and Prints Gallery, Calcutta, 1986 Solo exhbition, Dhoomimal Art Gallery, New Delhi, 1986 Solo exhibition, Chitrakoot Art Gallery, Calcutta, 1988 Solo exhibition, Genesis Art Gallery, Calcutta, 1988 Exhibition, Karnataka Chitrakala Parishad, Bangalore, 1989 Safdar Hashmi Memorial Exhibition, New Delhi, 1991 Collectors Choice Exhibition, Hongkong, 2001 Art of Bengal, organised by CIMA Art Gallery, Kolkata and Mumbai. His works are in collection with BAAC, Kolkata, Punjab Museum, Chandigarh, LKA, New Delhi, Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India, New Delhi, NGMA, New Delhi, ITC Ltd., Kolkata.
