Tapas Sarkar (b.1952)

(b.-0001)

A student of Govt. College of Arts Sarkar is currently a freelance sculptor and a Senior Fellow with Govt. of India, Dept. of Culture. He has been a recipient of several awards and honours from various state and national level bodies. Some of them include Academy of Fine arts Award in 78, M.P. State LalitKala Academy Award to name some.
 
He has had 11 solo shows since 1978 in various cities of India and several group shows. He has executed more than 34 giant installations ranging from 10 ft to 55 ft high for NTPC, SAIL, IFFCO and many State and Govt. organisations. Sarkar has participated in several workshops and camps in India and abroad including Ramkinkar Baij Centenary, Bronze casting camp by LKA and Kala Bhavan.
