Kolkata, September 2026: Aakriti Art Gallery announces the 14th Edition of Affordable September, its annual initiative dedicated to making original Indian art more accessible to a wider audience. The exhibition will be held from 21 to 30 September 2026 at Aakriti Art Gallery, Kolkata.

This year, Affordable September brings together over 100 artists and more than 1,000 artworks, encompassing paintings, prints and sculptures—from GenNext artists to Modern Masters. With prices ranging from ₹3,000 to ₹3,00,000, the exhibition offers collectors an opportunity to explore original art across generations, mediums and artistic practices.

Over the years, Affordable September has evolved into one of Aakriti Art Gallery’s signature annual initiatives. Its underlying philosophy is simple: collecting original art need not be intimidating or beyond reach. By presenting a substantial body of works across a broad price range, the exhibition encourages younger and first-time buyers to begin collecting while offering established collectors the opportunity to discover interesting works at accessible prices.

“Affordable September is about encouraging people to look at art, engage with it and eventually live with it. A meaningful collection does not have to begin with a major acquisition. It can begin with one work that speaks to you. Our endeavour is to make that first step easier, while also offering experienced collectors a wide and carefully selected range of works,” says Vikram Bachhawat, Founder-Director, Aakriti Art Gallery.

The 14th edition reflects the diversity of Indian artistic practice, bringing different generations together within a single exhibition.
