Nantu Behari Das (b.1977)

Nantu Behari Das born in 1977 in Kolkata has done MVA in sculpture from the Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata. His works have been regularly selected in the annual art Exhibitions of the academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata (2000-2006). He has participated in the Annual shows of the West Bengal State Academy of Dance, Drama, Music and Visual Arts from 1997 to 2006, the Nandanik Annual art exhibition, 2000 and the Annual show of the Metropolitan Art Salon in 2004. Nantu's works were also selected in the show Young Contemporaries' curated by Jogen Chowdhury, 2007 at the Aakrti Art Gallery, Kolkata. He has been awarded several times by the State Academy and the Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata for the best exhibit in Sculpture. His works have also been selected at the national level in Delhi and highly appreciated for his experimentation with waste material. His works are very conceptual that relate to specific psychological associations and moves away from conventional mechanism of executing sculptures.
